Just the FAQs
(Answers to Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: Where can I ski? Is it only Park City?
A: There are 3 ski areas in the Park City vicinity. You can ski at Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley, or The Canyons (formerly Wolf Mountain / Park West). Also, you can ski Brighton & Solitude in the Big Cottonwood Canyon, Alta & Snowbird in the Little Cottonwood Canyon, or even Snowbasin.
Q: What about Cross Country Skiing?
A: YES. White Pine Touring maintains a groomed track on the Park City Golf Course and outlying areas. Easy access since the golf course is very close to the base of the Park City Mountain Resort. Also, the Homestead in Midway offers 12km in the beautiful setting of the Heber Valley.
Q: What is the altitude in Park City?
A: 6900 feet at the base of Park City Mountain Resort and 10,000 feet at the top elevation.
Q: Do I need a car in Park City?
A: Shuttles and buses are available from the Salt Lake City International Airport to the various lodging locations in Park City. There is also FREE public transportation that runs all throughout Park City and Deer Valley. However, if you are planning on skiing in the Park City area and the Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons, you may want to consider renting your own vehicle. Or, you can take a shuttle between Park City and the Little or Big Cottonwood Canyons for a fee.
Q: What about alcohol?
A: You may drink alcoholic beverages in most restaurants if you order food. Private clubs can serve drinks without food orders, but must offer food. You may also buy liquor at the State Liquor stores.
Q: What else is there to do?
A: WELL, you can ice skate, go on a mine tour, sleigh ride, hot air balloon ride, go snowmobiling, tour Salt Lake City, and of course, you can SHOP on Main Street. You can go for a bobsled or "ice rocket" ride at the Utah Olympic Park, if you dare! If you're visiting during the Summer, you can experience some awesome mountain biking, go hiking, or enjoy boating at the Jordanelle reservoir, play golf, horseback ride, play tennis, or see the ski jumpers perform at the Winter Sports Park (yes, it's open in the summer too!).
